Sustainable tourism
We are proud to support sustainable tourism and take our role as responsible accommodation providers seriously. We’re committed to protecting the natural beauty of Blenheim, Marlborough and New Zealand to help continuously improve our environmental practices, guided by the New Zealand Sustainable Tourism Commitment.
We welcome feedback and suggestions from our guests to help us do even better. ☺
Energy Efficiency
Our apartments feature energy-efficient appliances, heating, and cooling systems.
We power down all electronics when units are unoccupied.
LED lighting is used throughout to reduce energy use.
Guests are encouraged to enjoy our outdoor LPG BBQs to save on indoor energy Waste Reduction
We sort and recycle glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, and aluminium through the MDC Recycle Program.
Our disposable products are made from 100% recycled materials.
Cleaning is done using non-toxic, biodegradable products and reusable microfibre cloths.
All bathroom and dishwashing liquids are biodegradable and come in recyclable packaging.
We resuse bottles and containers where safe to do so.
Water Conservation
We use mulch in our gardens to retain moisture and reduce watering needs.
A low-flow water system and drip irrigation help us minimize water usage.
We invite guests to reuse towels during their stay to help save water.
Environmental Stewardship
We're passionate about native bird conservation and have planted native plants to attract birdlife and promote biodiversity.
Our garden care uses only eco-friendly sprays and weed control products.
Supporting Local
We prioritize local suppliers and support nearby businesses whenever possible.
Guests are encouraged to explore local markets, cafes, and artisan food producers.
During construction and ongoing maintenance, we continue to work with local tradespeople and businesses.
